Officially designated as Positron V3.2, this printer has undergone development and refinement through a close partnership between LDO and the Positron team. This collaboration has been a journey marked by dedication and innovation, and the fruits of our labor are now within reach.
As we understand the eagerness that surrounds this release, we would like to provide you with a transparent update on the reasons behind the decision to delay the product release.
- Pre-production Test Kits Were Released in December
In December, the project reached a significant milestone as production beta test kits were released. Over 18 pre-production units have been distributed to the hands of a carefully selected group of testers, who will be able to provide invaluable insights through their testing experiences.
- Lots of Feedback from Testers
We have received many constructive feedback from our testers who assembled the printers upon arrival and conducted thorough testing. Their input has been instrumental in identifying areas for improvement.
- User Experience Was Not as Ideal as Expected
One key takeaway from the beta testing phase is that the user experience did not meet our initial expectations. We are committed to refining Positron until it achieves the level of excellence our customers deserve.
- Design Still Needs Some Last-Minute Refinements
Our team has been working to incorporate the feedback received and make the necessary adjustments to enhance Positron’s design. These last-minute refinements are crucial to ensuring that the final product aligns perfectly with our vision and meets the high standards we’ve set for ourselves.
- LDO Do Not Want to Release a Half-Baked Product
At LDO, we pride ourselves on delivering products of the highest quality. We firmly believe in not releasing a product prematurely if it falls short of our standards. We understand the excitement behind the release, but we are committed to delivering a fully polished, reliable, and exceptional product that our customers can rely on.
- Expected Release Date
The burning question on everyone’s mind must be “When can I get my hands on the Positron V3.2?”
We believe a bit more time is necessary to incorporate the improvements effectively and we strive for a late spring 2024 release. Some long lead-time parts have been already ordered to reduce the impact of the coming Chinese New Year, like motors, linear rails, CM4 Raspberry Pi.
- Documents Taste
We spent tons of time to make documents for LDO positron, and now we need to revise it again to match the change. We even add Fusion 360 files into the guide for some steps so easy to understood.

- Taste of Pre-production
While we’re fine-tuning the final details, we couldn’t resist giving you a glimpse into what’s coming.

This is just a taste of what we have for pre-production, which is VERY close to final production. Stay tuned for the big reveal. Thanks your patience!
